Japanese fashion retailer Uniqlo is teaming up with

French style icon Ines de la Fressange on a capsule collection of women’s clothing for spring/summer 2014.

The collection, which will reflect elements of Parisian style, will be co-branded with Ines de la Fressange Paris, of which she is creative director-at-large, and will form part of the Japanese brand’s LifeWear 2014 range. The line will be available in a selection of Uniqlo stores worldwide.

Uniqlo design director Naoki Takizawa commented: "We talked regularly with Ines and exchanged views on a number of subjects including fabrics, design, and fitting. Ines' own lifestyle and approach to fashion closely mirror Uniqlo's LifeWear, and I am very pleased to be launching the new line that we have created together."

The fashion chain has previously collaborated with Jil Sander, Celia Birtwell, Orla Kiely, Lulu Guinness, and Laura Ashley, as well as tennis star Novak Djokovic.

Uniqlo also announced the appointment of Nigo, founder of streetwear brand A Bathing Ape, as the first creative director for its UT (Uniqlo T-shirt) brand.
