The first international fashion video festival meant only

for new talent is being organised during the Milano Fashion City program from February 26 to March 4, 2013. The idea behind the initiative by Diana Seclì, fashion journalist and IUFF creative director, is to support and promote fashion system giving an opportunity to young filmmakers to create a video dedicated to the fashion and accessories world.

IUFF has announced the program under the patronage of Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, in collaboration with Lombardia Film Commission and Promos-Camera di Commercio, with technical support from Biblioteca della Moda and Centro di Produzione Multimediale Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca and in partnership with: Camera Commercio Milano, FIAMP (Italian Federation of Fashion and Personal Accessories), Fiera Milano, Micam (International Footwear Exhibition), Mido (International Optics, Optometry and Ophthalmology Exhibition), Mifur (International Fur and Leather Exhibition) and Mipel (International Leather Goods Show).

IUFF is for young un-professional filmmakers between the age group 18 to 36 years, from fashion, direction, photography, styling and design categories. The video can be ones that are already produced but should have never been presented in any contest before. The festival’s theme is accessory touch: accessory is seen not as the video protagonist but as an elegant nuance interpreted by every author. The worldwide contest’s communication will focus on Europe, US and emerging countries such as Brazil, China, India and Russia. The last date for video submission is January 18, 2013.

30 short fashion films (60-180 seconds) will be selected and then presented in Milan. The winners will get an opportunity to play a fashion video on behalf of the four most important Italian exhibition companies in the fashion/accessories space: Micam, Mido, Mifur, Mipel and on behalf of IUFF.

IUFF’s jury members are professionals from the field of film directing, photography, styling, music and journalism. They include names like Marco Angelillis, Guido Bovolenta, Sanjay Chawla among others. The award categories include: IUFF Award for best concept, IUFF Micam Award for best accessory shoes performance, IUFF Mido Award for best accessory glasses performance, IUFF Mifur Award for best accessory fur performance, IUFF Mipel Award for best accessory bag performance.
