New West End Company, the consortium responsible for the management

and promotion of the Bond Street, Oxford Street and Regent Street retail areas, is to bring back Jace Tyrrell as managing director of external affairs, less than a year after he left the organisation.

Tyrrell, who was previously director of communications for nine years until his department last September, will return in the autumn to the newly created role and will lead public affairs and consumer marketing across the core West End retail streets.

Joining from the City and Westminster Property Associations, where he has been working on strategic property and planning issues with London developers and local authorities, he will also head up NWEC’s development of a new Property Business Improvement District (BID) later this year.

Tyrrell will report to chief executive Richard Dickinson on strategic communications and on the Property BID he will report directly to NWEC’s board, which includes landlords such as Great Portland Estates, The Crown Estate, Derwent London, Frogmore, Land Securities and Grosvenor.

Dickinson said: “Jace Tyrrell was an obvious candidate for the job, possessing unrivalled knowledge of London’s major stakeholder organisations, BIDs, election campaign strategies and critically the property industry.

“His role will enable New West End Company to drive the interests of property owners and retailers to ensure that the West End continues to be the most exciting shopping destination in the world.”
