Swarovski are to open their first out-of-town stores in the Glasgow Fort Shopping Park.

Bestseller-owned Jack & Jones will open a 2,300 sq ft store and Swarovski a 1,700 sq ft shop.  They join H&M and New Look in choosing Glasgow Fort as the location for regional flagships, which is owned by specialist retail warehouse fund the Hercules Unit Trust which is advised by British Land and managed by Schroders.

Commenting on the two new brands, Dan Clark, Asset Manager at British Land, said: “Jack & Jones and Swarovski’s decisions to choose Glasgow Fort for UK firsts highlights both its regional dominance, and the growing recognition from leading brands that out of town parks can provide the right combination of space, accessibility, affordability, quality of environment and catchment strength.”

Allan Nielsen, Country Manager at Bestseller, added: “The opening of a store at Glasgow Fort is very exciting for Jack & Jones. It is an opportunity to introduce the brand to a strong regional catchment in an environment that is very popular with our core customer of 18 to 25 year old men.  We are confident that this will be a success.”

Hayley Quinn, Director UK & Ireland at Swarovski, said: “Swarovski is delighted to be opening a new store at Glasgow Fort, the latest in a number of new stores which will allow Swarovski to strengthen its position as a premium retailer in the UK.  Scotland has proved to be very successful for Swarovski and continues to deliver excellent growth.”
