The Jacobson Group, which owns brands such as Gola, Lotus,

and Ravel, has bought Dolcis out of administration for an undisclosed sum.

The group acquired the 149-year-old brand from the Barratts Priceless Group, which fell into administration last month. It aims to relaunch the Dolcis brand with its debut collection for spring/summer 2013, which will focus on targeting the young women’s fashion market, with plans to move into other categories in future seasons.

The Dolcis brand will operate from the Jacobson head office and will be supported by a team drawing on Jacobson's footwear sourcing, design expertise, marketing and sales experience.

"The Dolcis brand dates back to 1863 and already we have started to develop a great archive of material which we'll use to form the core focus of the range to give it a genuine USP," said Tony Evans, Jacobson Group managing director. "Dolcis has a high level of consumer awareness; this is a strength that we will capitalise on in our development of the brand."
