Fashion company Jaeger is further supporting the Wool Week initiative. Jaeger was founded in

1884 by Dr Gustav Jaeger, Professor of Zoology, who espoused the theory that if wool was worn close to the skin it provided health-giving benefits as well as offering warmth in winter and coolness in summer. The brand continues to uphold Dr Gustav Jaeger’s principles with the use of luxurious wools such as cashmere, merino and alpaca, as well as camel hair pioneered by Jaeger in the early 1900s.

For AW10, Jaeger will be working with British weavers and spinners, and its knitwear and outerwear will remain one of the brand’s renowned strengths. Jaeger has a rich archive that highlights the brand‘s wool heritage featuring sketches, illustrations, garments, photography and swatches.

Wool Week runs from the 11th - 17th October 2010.
