J.Crew to open flagship store on Regent Street

During a low key launching party, classic American apparel

brand, J.Crew opened the doors of its first UK store. Beginning next month, the all-American brand plans on opening two other stores in London, one located in South Kensington for the J.Crew women’s wear collection and a flagship store on Regent Street. The flagship shop will offer men’s and women’s apparel, 'Crewcuts' as well as their children's line and will be the focal point stand-alone store from J.Crew in the UK.

The first store to open is a “well-edited men’s shop," which sells mostly shirts, but also offers Ludlow suits and tweeds, as well as selected items from London Undercover and Thomas Mason. The men's store is located in a historic 19th century townhouse on 38 Lamb’s Conduit Street near Farringdon.

J.Crew is best known for their mailing catalog, which first started back in 1983. Since then the company has opened a number of stores and expanded overseas, with 46 store openings planned for this year alone. In the first quarter of this year, J.Crew announced revenues increase of 12 percent to 564.1 million dollars, or 348.83 million pounds, alongside comparable company sales growing 5 percent for the year 2013 over 2012.
