JD Sports has just acquired Oswald Bailey 17 outdoor shops and got the industry talking about a reported investment
in Mainline Menswear, both registered in barely a week."Oswald Bailey was acquired by JD Sports Fashion PLC on 28 March 2014. A new Oswald Bailey website will be launched during April however returns and pending orders will be dealt with as normal. The Oswald Bailey stores continue to trade as normal." This was the concise announcement made by the Midlands-based retailer.
The company was set up in Dorset in 1948 and has shops across Birmingham and the surrounding areas, spreading down to southern England.
According to the company, the stores are from now on operated under the Millets brand.
