Sportswear retailer JD Sports has revamped its Intu Trafford Centre store in Manchester with a new technology-driven

concept.

The 9,000 square foot store has undergone a four-month refit to combine the old JD Sports unit with the standalone Adidas store to create an enlarged store. Operating over two floors, the shop sells premium sports fashion ranges including apparel and accessories from brands such as Nike, Adidas, Lacoste, Supply & Demand and EA7, as well as being home to the chain’s largest footwear offering.

In addition to the enlarged retail space, the store also features a number of technical upgrades including eight multi-channel kiosks for customers to browse the entire JD range. The sportswear retailer has also installed Bluetooth beacons, which means that customers who have downloaded the JD app can access exclusive store content and shop directly from the app before paying in-store.

There is also a social media wall, which will feature customer tweets and pictures using #jdtrafford, and staff have been equipped with iPads to assist with customers’ enquiries.
