John Lewis promotes Ed Connolly

Department store John Lewis has promoted Ed Connelly to buying director of fashion from his current role overseeing the

buying in the retailer’s technology division.

Connelly has “transformed the way customers think about tech” at John Lewis, according to buying and brand director Paula Nickolds, as well as overseeing three years of double digit growth in the company and taken its market share in technology to just under 10 percent.

Nickolds added: “It is exactly this kind of vision, leadership and understanding of our customers which will create the step change our fashion business now needs.”

He will take up his new role as fashion buying director on July 27, replacing Meg Lustman who decided not to renew her contract. Connelly’s replacement in Electricals and Home Technology will be Johnathan Marsh, currently head of buying, electricals.
