Johnstons of Elgin, the largest independent producer

of Scottish woollens and fine cashmere products have been granted The Royal Warrant of Appointment to The Prince of Wales.

Royal Warrants are given as a mark of recognition for ‘service, quality and excellence’ of those who have supplied goods or services for at least five years to the Households of HM The Queen, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh or HRH The Prince of Wales.

The Scottish-based manufacturer was awarded the warrant effective from January 1 this year.

James Dracup, Johnstons of Elgin’s group managing director, said: “We have worked for 5 years through the good offices of James Sugden OBE, the official Grantee, who, assisted by John Gillespie, has developed a number of very special tweeds for His Royal Highness.”

As well as producing garments for the Royal family, Johnstons of Elgin has worked also with luxury brands including Burberry, Hermes and Chanel.
