Fashion retailer Joules is preparing to launch its first range of licensed eyewear frames,

as the English retailer aims to expand its business offering.

Last year Joules revealed that it was teaming up with high-street optician to launch an eyewear range in response to customer demand. Founder and chief executive of Joules, Tom Joule previously told the Leicester Mercury: “Our research shows there would be lots of customers that would want to wear our eyewear. We are always looking for new areas to move into.”

Joules signed a license agreement with eyewear expert Mondottica to launch its first optical and sunglass eyewear collection for women and children, which will be available in Vision Express stores as well as selected independent eyewear retailers in the UK and Ireland from April 30.

The collection consists of 32 designs that showcase the label's colorful designs and prints, which were designed in collaboration with Mondottica. Prices are set to range between 149 pounds and 169 pounds for prescription glasses, with the sunglass line starting at 60 pounds. The sunglass range will be sold at selected Joules store.

"We are still very ambitious and are looking to grow in all channels and on varying continents," added Joule as the retailer remains committed to its four-year to increase stores, expand online sales and increase overseas trade.
