British heritage brand has appointed Simon Spur as creative

director and senior vice president, following the departure of Michael Sondag who left the company earlier this month.

Spurr will oversee product design, store development and marketing at the menswear brand with immediate effect.

"I am very excited to join Kent & Curwen and be part of a brand with such rich British heritage," said Spurr. "It’s a wonderful opportunity to not only work with their talented team, but also further define the Kent & Curwen brand."

The designer, who disbanded his own label in 2012 after six years, joins the heritage brand from Tommy Hilfiger where he was the menswear creative consultant.

The appointment follows the announcement that Kent & Curwen is to launch in America with the opening of its first New York flagship on Madison Avenue, and a 1,500 square foot store at 2 Savile Row in London next month.
