One third of the Kew 159 womenswear chain of stores are to be taken over by sister

womenswear brand Jigsaw.

The decision was taken after parent company Robinson Webster Holdings revealed in April that it was planning to either sell or close the Kew 159 stores to enable it to focus on its more profitable Jigsaw chain. Robinson Webster said at the time that Kew 159 had struggled in difficult trading conditions.

Jigsaw will take over seven Kew stores in Leamington Spa, Canterbury, Windsor, Bluewater, Reigate, Walton and Chiswick. The remaining 15 store locations will be sold.

Originally launched in September 2003 the chain was rebranded from Kew to Kew 159 last year.
