L Brands Inc., parent company of Victoria's Secret, La Senza

and Henri Bendel, revealed plans to open more Victoria's Secret stores in the UK and the Middle East this year.

During a conference call which took place on Thursday discussing fourth quarter earnings and results, the company indicated that its Victoria's Secret flagship store in London was doing quite well and the company plans to double its store number in the country within the year.

Martin Waters, executive vice president of International for L Brands, said that the company “continues to be very pleased” with its flagship store and “have recently acquired a long lease on the adjacent property to allow us to expand the selling area later this year”.

Including its flagship store on Bond Street, there are currently five Victoria’s Secret stores in the country, all of which of Pink lines, all of which also “perform well,” according to Waters. He added that the company is set to open another six stores in the country this year, in order to continuing building its “footprint”.

Victoria's Secret currently operates out of four stores under the company's partnership with Alshaya, which offer the brand's full assortment. “We continued to be delighted with the results, and we'll open another eight to ten stores this year in that region,” added Waters.

He also revealed that due to La Senza's poor performance in the fourth quarter, the company has decided to defer its entry into the United States for now.

L Brands revealed a 19 percent increase in net income for the fourth quarter that ended February 1 to 489.6 million dollars.
