French online and mail order fashion retailer La Redoute is set to open its first UK store with a pop-up at Grosvenor’s Liverpool

One.

Taking place on Manesty’s Lane, the French fashion brand will open a 1,755 square foot temporary space from May 22 to 26, over the bank holiday weekend, and will sell items from their Spring/Summer 2014 collection, made up of its three French style brands Laura Clement, Mademoiselle*R and Soft Grey.

In addition, the store will stock essentials and basics from the Prix Mini and Essentials ranges and the store will also host a selection of swimwear, beachwear, French classics, dresses and cover-ups.

Commenting on the pop-up, La Redoute head of marketing Heidi Kenyon-Smith said: “Liverpool One is the ideal location for our first pop-up store in what is a very important step for the brand.

“Liverpool One has a very strong reputation right across the region and actively embraces creative concepts with its dedicated pop-up store. We are following in the footsteps of a number of other great brands at Liverpool ONE and are confident of sharing similar success.”

Miles Dunnett, head of asset management at Grosvenor Liverpool Fund, added: “The unique nature of pop-ups generates great curiosity amongst visitors to Liverpool One. La Redoute will be no exception, particularly as this is the first time customers can physically experience the brand before purchasing.”

La Redoute, part of Redcats, the world’s third largest home shopping organisation, launched the French brand in the UK in 1995. In addition to France and the UK, La Redoute has a presence throughout Europe, Russia and China. Earlier this year the mail order company teamed up with ChannelAdvisor to aid its international expansion and to sell its products through Amazon and eBay.

Liverpool One has more than 160 stores, bars and restaurants, as well as a cinema, indoor golf and a five-acre park and it has had a successful start to the year with sales up by 7.5 percent in the first quarter of 2014. The shopping centre has become a great place for brands to open pop-ups, last year clothing retailer Candy Kittens, co-founded by Made in Chelsea's Jamie Laing utilised the space.
