Lingerie retailer La Senza has closed down six stores just two weeks after its UK

stores had entered administration for the second time in two years.

Despite Robert Moran of PricewaterhouseCooper, who has been appointed as joint administrator of Marnixheath Limited previously stating that there were “no immediate plans to close any stores,” shops in Huddersfield, Sheffield, Norwich, Wakefield, Chelmsford and Lincoln were shut last weekend by administrators, which has resulted in the redundancy of 75 La Senza employees.

“Regrettably, despite management’s efforts, it has proven unprofitable to continue to trade these stores which has resulted in the loss of 75 jobs,” said Moran to Drapersonline. “The company and the administrators are making every effort to support staff at this difficult time.”

After the stores closures, La Senza operates 49 stores in England, Wales and Scotland. The lingerie retailer continues its operations in North American and the rest of the world, as it operates more than 150 stores throughout Canada, and 330 stores through its franchise-operated stores in more than 30 other countries which have not been affected.
