Commercial property company Land Securities is launching

new online search technology to enhance the online and offline customer experience for visitors to its shopping centres.

Using Google Commerce Search technology, the company is planning to deliver an aggregated search experience across multiple retailers which will help shoppers to search for, find and locate products available in different retail stores by searching across multiple retailers’ product catalogues.

Initially launched at the White Rose Shopping Centre in Leeds, Debenhams, Topshop, Warehouse and Oasis are the first retailers within the centre to support scheme. Visitors planning a trip to the shopping centre can search for products online across multiple retailers in a single search. They can also search via their mobile phones while in the shopping centre or in an individual retail store.

Provider InventCommerce said that future phases could include additional Google Commerce Search features such as Product Recommendations, based on other users’ searches and the ability to check local stock availability using data provided by the retailers.

Catherine Thomas, head of retail marketing of Land Securities, said: "Our aim is to support and deliver added value to retailers in our shopping centres and to support their multichannel strategy. The White Rose shopping centre in Leeds receives thousands of online visitors every day and Google Commerce Search will significantly improve their online experience."
