HRH The Countess of Wessex has been announced as the first ever Patron of London

College of Fashion to champion the College’s commitment to ‘Better Lives’.

The three-year patronage will see The Countess highlighting the College’s ‘Better Lives’ programme, which uses fashion to drive change, build a sustainable future and improve wellbeing.

The scheme works in partnership with HM Prison Service on projects leading to the rehabilitation of women offenders through equipping them with skills they can further develop during their time in prison and then use, upon release, to aid employment or education opportunities.

Commenting on the appointment, Professor Frances Corner said: “We are very proud to have The Countess of Wessex’s support and look forward to working with her.

“This is a very exciting time for the college and HRH’s Patronage strengthens the innovative work that we do and the contribution we will continue to make to the future of the fashion industry.”
