Mamas and Papas to expand in Russia

Children’s clothing retailer, Mamas and Papas,

will open 25 new stores in Russia and five stores in Lebanon over the next three years.

The retailer plans to open its first Russian store by the end of May, with a minimum of four further store openings in the country by the end of the year. Tim Maule, deputy chief executive, said: "We are very excited to be launching into Russia and Lebanon. We know there is a huge demand."

Currently, Mamas & Papas operates over 60 shops across the UK offering more than 3,500 products. The retailer is aiming to open a new store every ten weeks in the UK.

Mamas & Papas is a family owned business which was founded by Luisa and David Scacchetti in 1981. The retailer grew its profit from around £130 million to £135.2 million in 2010.
