Marc Jacobs for Dior?

With the Spring Summer 2012 womenswear catwalk season starting in less

than a fortnight, the fashion press are imminently waiting to see who Dior will announce as it's new creative director.

The recent revelations surrounding the John Galliano case, where LVMH did not report the true cause of death of Galliano's confidente Stephen Robinson, who died from a drug overdose and not of a heart attack, may suggest Dior have been looking at replacements for longer than Galliano's anti-semitic incident earlier this year.

If the latest rumours are to be believed, Marc Jacobs is being considered for the Dior job, and Celine's Phoebe Philo would take over the helm Louis Vuitton in addition to continuing at Celine. The Louis Vuitton ready-to-wear collection would be scaled down, focusing on its core business of luxury accessories.

We await with baited breath for LVMH's announcement.
