High street fashion and lifestyle retailer Marks & Spencer online
is launching in the Republic of Ireland this spring. The new website, www.marksandspencer.ie is a part of the retailer’s strategy announced in its November 2010 business update to become a leading International, multi-channel retailer. The new website will offer a range of online fashion exclusives that will be available to Irish shoppers for the first time, in addition to the full range of M&S clothing, which is aimed to complement the brand’s 21 Irish stores.
The local tailored website follows the success of the brand’s first International site in France, which launched in October 2011, and will offer more than 10,000 M&S products across womenswear, lingerie, menswear and kidswear, as well as a selection of homeware products.
Jonathan Glenister, Head of Marks & Spencer Ireland, said: “We’re proud that over the last 30 years customers across Ireland have grown to know and love M&S. The website has been long awaited and it’s great news that customers will soon be able to enjoy the convenience of shopping with M&S at anytime and anywhere.”
The first Marks & Spencer store in Republic of Ireland opened in Dublin Mary Street in November 1979, the retailer now has 21 stores.
