Matthew Williamson announces new company CEO

The British Designer announced today that Niki Scrodi

has been selected to be the next chief executive officer at the company. Scrodi previously worked at Nicole Farhi as chief executive before she went on to join Matthew Williamson in March this year as managing director.

Joseph Velosa, co-founder and chief executive of the company will continue to work alongside the senior management as chairman of the board. Velosa and Williamson remain close, with Velosa adding that the pair is pleased with Scordi taking on her new role. Scordi plans on continuing the company’s strategy to extend the brand’s global presence and adds that she looks “forward to working closely with Matthew and Joseph to realize the brand's vision.”

Matthew Williamson launched his eponymous luxury label in 1997, opening his first London store in 2004.
