Maxine Hargreaves-Adams buys Fenn Wright Manson

Fenn Wright Manson, the premium womenswear brand,

and its administrators Zolfo Cooper, have confirmed the sale of the brand and business to Maxine Hargreaves-Adams, the daughter of Matalan founder John Hargreaves.

Hargreaves-Adams will take control of the womenswear chain that fell into administrator in March with immediate effect, and the business will continue to trade under the Fenn Wright Mason brand name in its eight standalone stores, online, and within its John Lewis and Brown Thomas concessions.

Commenting on the sale, Peter Holder, Partner at Zolfo Cooper said: “We are extremely pleased to have secured the sale of Fenn Wright Manson to Maxine Hargreaves-Adams, preserving a well known UK retail brand and securing approximately 130 jobs. We wish Maxine and the Company’s employees all the best for what we believe will be a successful future for the business.”

Maxine Hargreaves-Adams added: “I am delighted to announce my purchase of Fenn Wright Manson, a brand which I have long admired. The brand’s heritage, which is about making women look good effortlessly and offering stylish pieces with exceptional quality, will remain central to our future plans. I look forward to growing and evolving the Fenn Wright Manson brand while continuing to honour this brand promise and our substantial customer base."

Established in 1974, Fenn Wright Manson is a leading occasion wear brand for women, which was founded by Colin Fenn, Trevor Wright and Glynn Manson.
