MCM, the German handbag and accessories label, has announced the appointment of Adrian

Margelist as chief creative officer to push the brand’s strategic growth and development.

In the newly created position, Margelist will be responsible for the brand’s creative direction, all future product collections as well as the development and management of the label's creative image.

This is Margelist’s second time round at the brand from 2008 to 2010 he served as global artistic director, where he helps developed a strategy for expansion into Asia, an area which is important to the MCM brand.

Commenting on his new position, Margelist, said: “I had a fantastic journey in 2008 and am enthused for this stage in reaching and achieving greater frontiers. Given the brand’s growing notoriety in Asia, there is an enormous potential in reaching today’s fans and tomorrow’s loyalists. The consumers are growing and it’s important that we grow with them.”

Prior to MCM, Margelist worked at Vivienne Westwood, Chanel, Givenchy and Esprit.
