Meet the Manufacturer, the UK textile and manufacturers trade show established

by Make it British, has announced a new venue to better accommodate the number of visitors and exhibitors keen to attend.

The events second annual edition will be held at the historical Tobacco Dock, situated in the center of London's docklands. The available space dedicated to exhibitors will be more than doubled, as the 20,000 square foot Grade I warehouse can house 150 exhibitors.

The new venue is also said to be more accessible to attendees than the event's former venue, the Old Truman Brewery in the Spitalfields area, as it features better public transport connections and parking space for hundreds of cars.

The decision to move to a larger venue comes after the inaugural event was filled to its full capacity on the first day, with an estimated 3,000 industry members visiting. Kate Hills, the founder of the event, previously told FashionUnited her aims to increase the space for the second event, after the success of the debut event.

“We had 50 available spaces at the conference, plus a huge waiting list and it [had] all been filled. The exhibitors space was also completely sold out. I think that the event will have to be at least twice as big next year to accommodate everyone,” said Hills after the debut Meet the Manufacturer event this summer.

The announcement comes as new research independently commissioned by Barclays Corporate Banking published today highlights the growing global interest in products that are labeled as “Made in Britain” and indicates that overseas consumers are willing to pay a premium for British branded goods above English, Scottish or Welsh.

Meet the Manufacturer 2015 is set to take place on Wednesday, June 3 and Thursday June 4.
