Brazilian footwear brand Melissa, known for its plastic design and designer collaborations, is to open its first permanent store in Covent Garden

this autumn.

The 6,000 square foot unit on King Street, Covent Garden follows the success of its pop-up stores in the capital, and will see the shoe brand taking over the former Ralph Lauren store.

The shop will follow the brand’s ‘Galeria’ concept, which can found in its New York and Sao Paulo flagship, where the shoes are displayed alongside art installations and sculptures.

The store will house the label’s full collection for women, men and children, as well as its designer collaborations with the likes of Jason Wu, Gareth Pugh, Vivienne Westwood, and Karl Lagerfeld.
