Italian denim brand Meltin’Pot has named Leopoldo Durante as its new creative director,

as part of the brand’s strategic move to align its new style direction with its autumn/winter 2013 collection.

Durante co-owns and designs premium jeans brand Care Label and brings with him more than 20 years experience of collaborating with brands such as Rick Owens and Alexander McQueen.

His debut collection for the label will be autumn 2013, which will be presented during the menswear tradeshow Pitti Uomo in January. The new collection will feature the relaunch of the B-Side Jean, Meltin’Pot’s historical model that is completely reversible, with 20 styles that will be complimented by key pieces such as t-shirts, sweaters and shirts.

Chief executive Augusto Romano said: “We choose Leopoldo for his incredible experience in jeans design and for his modern interpretation of the market. At this time I think that the market needs a different and unconventional approach to the product, and surely Leopoldo and his team can provide it.”
