Mexx is looking for new CEO

Fashion brand Mexx has announced that Thomas Grote has resigned from his position as CEO

. The press statement confirmed that it was Grote’s decision to leave the brand, and that he informed the board last week in Canada.

Executive chairman Lee Lewis Bird III and Vice-Chairman Raymond C.A. Leclercq will be running the company while the search for a new CEO takes place, which the statement confirmed will begin this week.

Grote joined Mexx in 2009 and led the company through the takeover by the Gores Group, a leading Los Angeles-based private equity firm in November 2011 from Liz Claiborne, which still retains shares in Mexx. No confirmation was made on what Grote’s next role would be.
