Mila Schön confirms new creative director

Italian label Mila Schön, which was re-launched by New Antica Group
in 2012, has named Alessandro De Benedetti as its new creative director.De Benedetti started his role this season, debuting his first collection for the luxury Milanese house at the recent Spring/Summer 2014 Milan Fashion Week in September.
The designer, who began his career in Paris as an assistant for Thierry Mugler’s haute couture atelier, also has his own eponymous collection, which debut in Milan in 2002. According to a short statement for the brand confirming the appointment, De Benedetti was chosen as creative director due to his “deep knowledge of tailoring and skills needed to create great prêt-à-porter garments”.
Commenting on his appointment, De Benedetti said: “I am very excited and honoured that this important task was entrusted to me and am proud to be part of this Maison’s history.”
Mila Schön Managing Director, Eugenia De Benedetti, added: "We are delighted for Alessandro to join the brand. I feel that he understands the fashion world and the heritage of Mila Schön."
Mila Schön was an Italian-born fashion designer, who opened her first atelier in Milan in 1958. The brand has become known for its simple, intelligent elegance, and counted Marella Agnelli, Lee Radziwill, Jackie Kennedy Onassis as clients.
