Moorbrook Textiles signs major deal with Daks

Scottish company Moorbrook Textiles Ltd., which
produces woven textile products at its manufacturing plants in Ayr and Peebles, has secured a licensee agreement for the next three years to supply the retailer with custom-made scarves under the Daks label.As a result of the deal, Moorbrook will be able to expand its workforce with six new fulltime staff at its Pebbles site over the next six months. In addition, the company plans to start an apprentice employment programme at both sites, taking on a total of four modern apprentices.

“Our growth over the past year has been significant and we are thrilled to have the capacity to bring more people into the Moorbrook family. Our first apprentice has started at our Ayr site and we’re excited about providing the opportunity to nurture the talents of young people in Scotland who want to develop skills within the textiles manufacturing industry.”
The new contract is the latest success for the Moorbrook Textiles Group, which comprises of Alex Begg & Company, Robert Noble and Replin Fabrics, which has witnessed a 21 per cent growth over the past year.
