Analysts at N+1 Singer said Mothercare will have a viable UK
business once the transformation has been implemented. Mothercare will report its latest turnaround on Thursday after a rocky period during which the baby’s retailer has shredded loss-making stores and nailed overseas expansion."We believe the attention to detail and numerous fixes being implemented under the transformation programme could further lift the trajectory, as could improving sales transfer from closed stores via enhancement of the online proposition," analysts at N+1 Singer stated in a note to investors issued earlier this week.
On average, analysts forecast underlying profits to come at somewhere circa 6.6 million pounds, ahead of the 1.6 million pounds it reported last year.
In a separate note, ‘The Express’ published Sunday that the UK division is forecast to report a loss of 21 million pounds.
The group is going through a three-year restructuring plan, overseen by chief executive Simon Calver.
