New European Affairs Advisor joins AEDT

Kate McGowan has joined the AEDT on a full time basis as

European Affairs Advisor on 1st February 2011. As a former consultant for one of the largest public affairs consultancies in Brussels, Burson-Marsteller, Ms McGowan has previously worked on behalf a range of clients including a number of well-known and respected companies, providing them with expertise on the European political landscape and communication strategies. Ms McGowan also has first-hand experience of working inside the European Institutions having completed an internship as a Parliamentary Assistant in the office of a British MEP, Chris Davies.

At a time when EU legislation is having an increasing impact on national law–making and European regulations relating to fashion retail are proliferating, Kate McGowan's appointment represents a significant boost to AEDT, allowing the association to better represent the interests of fashion retailers at the EU level and giving it a stronger voice on the European stage.
