Designer discount outlet retailer McArthurGlen has appointed Nick Peel as UK country manager
to build the reputation of the outlets in the UK as key fashion retail destinations.Joining from Land Securities, Peel was head of retail, overseeing 22 shopping centres and 19 retail parks in the UK, in his new role he will be concentrating on McArthurGlen’s seven outlets across the UK and ensuring a “high-quality shopping experience for the 30 million customers who visit them each year”.
Henrik Madsen, McArthurGlen's Managing Director, said: "Nick's wealth of retail management experience will help us to drive forward in delivering a best-in-class retail and shopping experience for our brand partners and customers.
“His arrival comes at a time when we are seeing strong sales' growth for designer brands at our UK centres, which are welcome increasing numbers of fashion-savvy shoppers, looking to find the most sought-after brands with year-round savings."

McArthurGlen’s first designer outlet in the UK opened in 1995 with the Cheshire Oaks site, which is still the largest designer outlet in the UK. Since then the group has open six other UK Designer Outlets in Ashford, Bridgend, East Midlands, Livingston, Swindon and York.
