Fashion designer Nicole Farhi has announced that

Joseph McGee from the Royal College of Art as the winner of their Graduate Competition in association with the British Fashion Council. McGee was chosen by a panel of judges including Anne Tyrrell, Chair of the BFC Colleges Council; Caroline Rush, CEO, BFC; and Farhi herself, based on his submitted portfolio, written case study and presentation.

McGee, who saw off stiff competition from highly-commended fellow graduates Louise Bennetts, Edinburgh College of Art; Kyle Graham Spires, Royal College of Art; and Vic Riches, Kingston University, will now begin a three-month paid internship, which will see him working alongside Farhi and her design team.

Nicole Farhi, Creative Director said; "I am thrilled that Nicole Farhi in partnership with the BFC will offer a talented graduate the opportunity to experience the fashion business first hand. Joseph’s final presentation perfectly captured the Nicole Farhi customer and we loved his commercial designs and beautiful illustrations. We look forward to Joseph joining the team.”

Caroline Rush, CEO, BFC, commented: “We are pleased to be working with Nicole Farhi on this great competition to showcase the exceptional young talent coming out of UK colleges and Universities. Joseph showed real empathy with and enthusiasm for the brand alongside an exceptional presentation.”
