Parisian fashion house Nina Ricci confirmed the impending departure of its

creative director, Peter Copping today, after rumors emerged he was leaving the label to take up a similar position at Oscar de la Renta.

Nina Ricci stated that it would “shortly announce” Copping successor, which many believe will be former creative director at Carven, Guillaume Henry, who announced his exit from the label on Monday.

Ralph Toledano, president of Nina Ricci's parent company Puig Fashion Group, expressed his gratitude to Copping for his work over the past years and “his commitment to Nina Ricci and his contribution to the legacy of the house”. He added: “His vision has been a major factor in the re-launch of the brand. We wish him all the best for the continuation of his career.”

Copping first joined the team at the French fashion house in 2009, replacing Olivier Theyskens. Since the start of his tenure, his collections for Nina Ricci have been praised for their elegance, femininity and grace.

Copping revealed in the statement that it has been his “great pleasure to work as creative director of Nina Ricci and to have been a part of the history” of the French fashion house. “I am very grateful to the Puig family for their kindness during the last five years.”
