The idea behind NN.07

was created whilst 2 good friends were relaxing in a bar together and their passion for design became the topic of discussion. Victor Lindh and Ulrik Pedersen decided not to let the grass grow under their feet. Determined to turn their words into deeds, ‘the two bar frequenters’ were on a plane to Tokyo a few weeks later to look for inspiration. That was back in 2007. And as a brand simply needs to have a name, Victor and Ulrik decided to literally define what they wanted to create.
No Nationality (NN) was born, a brand without borders, both literally and figuratively. Now, not quite 5 years on, we can definitely say that these gentlemen got it right. NN.07 has enjoyed overwhelming success in Scandinavia and has even been nominated for the 2012 Dansk Fashion Awards. Now it’s the rest of Europe’s turn!

NN.07 started out as a men’s clothing brand, but soon developed into a label with three fully fledged main lines: Mens, Womens and Accessories. A fourth line was added to this last season; Directors Cut, a smart collection for ‘trendy’ office workers. It’s now impossible to imagine Scandinavia’s fashion industry without the brand after less than 5 years; an impressive achievement. So what’s the secret behind NN.07’s success? This is undoubtedly down to the fact that the two creative friends dare to have a ‘thinking outside the box’ mentality. These gents still get their inspiration from Tokyo’s well developed vintage culture and they raise the bar for each of their new collections. NN.07 is possibly the first and only brand never to have included a black item in the collection. And that’s not all ... Victor and Ulrik: “We are 100% dedicated to a perfect fit, unique craftsmanship and attention to every detail.”

This very same thought was undoubtedly also used when the website was constructed, which we –curious as we are – decided to put through a detailed inspection. It all instantly looked very promising; the winners of the Ibiza competition have been announced. This appeared to be about a fashion contest, with the main prize being an all expenses paid weekend to the trendy Spanish party island. The www.nn07.com website doesn’t just allow you to view the current collections; you will also be able to find all the very latest news about the brand. There is an enthusiastic call for votes at the very top. This is because NN.07 has been nominated for the Dansk Fashion Awards in the 2012 Danish Fashion Brand category and this prize seems perfect for the label. We will wait and see. And we’ll certainly be keeping a close eye on the brand in the meantime. NN.07’s 2013 summer collection can be admired live during the Copenhagen Fashion Week in August at the Gallery International Fashion Fair, an exhibition which will really do justice to the brand. Perhaps an excellent and legitimate reason to travel to the Danish capital this summer? The next edition of the Copenhagen Fashion Week certainly has plenty of surprises in store, but more about that later ...
