Nougat launches plus size wear

Mid level fashion brand, Nougat, is launching a new womens wear brand aimed at the 40 plus

customer.

Called Havren, the 150-piece contemporary range is described as a “sophisticated and feminine collection”. It will include occasionwear as well as dressy daywear suitable for both work and leisure.

Clare Lawrence, former design director at Fenn Wright Manson, will head up the team, with the first collection being showcased at Pure London in August for S/S 13 season.

Harry Rogers, chairman of Nougat, said there are not enough affordable fashion brands in the 40-plus market and he hopes Havren will fill the gap. He added that the company plans to supply only indies and smaller department stores in order to prevent undercutting by bigger retailers. The aim is to wholesale the new brand at Nougat’s existing accounts in the UK and Ireland, while also adding new stockists.
