US denim company, Not Your Daughter's Jeans has been purchased by Crestview
Partners and Maybrook Capital Partners in a deal that will be finalized early next year. When the agreement has been finalized, the new owners plan to bring in former VF Corp CEO, Mackey McDonald as chairman of the company.George Rude, NYDJ co-founder revealed that the agreement with the New York investors was valued at 385 million dollars, or 235 million pounds for nearly 100 percent of the company. The Rude family will still hold a small part of the company. In 2008, Falconhead Capital, a private equity company, paid an estimated 100 million dollars, or 61 million pounds for 50 percent of NYDJ. Revenues for the company for this year are expected to be 200 million dollars, or 122 million pounds.
NYDJ is based in California and was founded in 2003 by Rude's daughter Lisa Rudes-Sandel. The company creates specially designed jeans for its target audience of 35 plus woman, who want to wear skinny jeans, while feeling and looking a size smaller. NYDJ can be found in a number of department stores throughout the country, including John Lewis and Next.
