US surf- and snowboardwear company O’Neill has opened its

first store in Hong Kong. The 1,800 square feet flagship store is located in multibrand fashion store LCX on the third floor of Harbour City Mall in Tsim Sha Tsui in southern Kowloon.

The flagship store has been designed in white, woody and natural tones and is supposed to make visitors feel as if they stepped into founder Jack O’Neill's hometown Santa Cruz in Northern California. To make the experience more personal, elements have been used that were inspired by O’Neill’s house.

To commemorate the company’s founding in 1952 and the launch of the Hong Kong flagship store, the exhibition “The Original Since 1952” took place from 23rd October to 3rd November, featuring artworks by international and local artists. For surfwear enthusiasts, the exhibition also showcased “innovative wetsuits from six decades”. In addition, ”Big Wave” surfer and adventurer Mark Mathews and snowboard star Seb Toots were flown in from Australia and Canada, respectively, to mark the occasion.

The opening of the Hong Kong flagship store is part of the company’s larger expansion plan, including the launch of the brand in China and accelerated growth in Asia. Currently, O’Neill operates stores in most major cities in the USA, Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia and Japan.
