Orlebar Brown taps Sara Ferrero as chairwoman

Orlebar Brown, best known for its luxury tailored swimming trunks,

has appointed Sara Ferrero as chairwoman.

Commenting on her new appointment, Ferrero said: "I'm excited to join Adam and the team at Orlebar Brown. By pioneering the luxury resort lifestyle market and exporting it worldwide, Orlebar Brown has already achieved so much in its short history. I'm looking forward to helping the brand build on its remarkable success."

Prior to her recent appointment, Italian-born Ferrero was CEO at Joseph and helped expanded the brand's presence in Europe and enter new markets such as China, Russia and the Middle East. She also helped the British brand launch its international e-commerce site.

Ferrero previously worked at Italian accessories label Furla for five years, where she has been credited for helping spearhead a complete turnaround and boost company sales.

The company's founder, Adam Brown commented: "We are delighted to welcome Sara as chairwoman. She is widely respected in the fashion industry and has an enviable track record in growing luxury designer brands. Her experience and insights will be invaluable as Orlebar Brown enters its next stage of development."

Orlebar Brown was first founded in 2007 by photographer Brown and Julia Simpson-Orlebar, and since then has expanded to offer complete lifestyle collections of clothing, "based around holiday, travel and good times". The company recently opened its largest store in the UK last November and currently has four standalone stores in the country and ships online to over 100 countries world wide.
