Parsons The New School for Design has announced that it will be honouring alum

designer Jason Wu and German fashion house Hugo Boss at the 2014 Parsons Fashion Benefit, which takes place May 21 for the first time at The New School's new University centre.

The annual benefit is now in its 66th year and raises funds for scholarships at Parsons. Wu and Hugo Boss are both being recognised for their significant contribution to the field of design. Previous recipients have been Donna Karan, Reed Krakoff, Francisco Costa, Diane von Furstenberg and Marc Jacobs.

"Hugo Boss is a leader among international fashion companies, and their bold move into womenswear under Jason Wu is already making headlines,” said Parsons Executive Dean Joel Towers. "Jason’s journey from designing toys to Parsons to his own label to Art Director of Hugo Boss are a testament to his singular talent and dedication.”

Wu, who was named artistic director of Boss Womenswear in February, said: “I am incredibly honoured to be recognised at the 2014 Parson Fashion Benefit and to help raise scholarships for future generation of designers. I learned so much at Parson and continue to use many of the skills throughout my career.”

As well as honouring Wu and Hugo Boss, the benefit also features a runway show of select collections by graduating students and the names the university Designers of the Year.
