Fashion designer Patrick Robinson has reportedly left his role as creative director of Armani

Exchange. The former creative director of Gap assumed his position in March 2013 and has departed the label amidst rumours that he was quietly let go after he was linked to design plagiarism.

Page Six from the New York Post are reporting that Robinson was fired from the label after some of his accessory designs for the brand bore a resemblance to those designed by New York-based jeweller David Yurman.

The items were allegedly so similar to that of David Yurman that the jewellery company sent a legal letter to Armani Exchange demanding it to stop selling the bracelets; however Armani’s spokesperson strongly denied this.

"Patrick Robinson left the brand amicably several weeks ago," an Armani Exchange representative told Page Six. "His departure and this alleged claim of Yurman sending us a cease-and-desist letter are entirely unrelated.
