The pop-up store is a concept we are familiar with, but this summer 60 shipping containers
will be transformed into a temporarily shopping centre in London's Shoreditch. Suitably named ‘Boxpark’, the shopping centre will stay for five years. According to the organizers, especially young designers and brands will be able to benefit from the pop-up centre. The 60 containers will be set over two floors with the top floor dedicated to hospitality and exhibitions. On the ground floor on trend fashion brands are able to display their collections. Budding designers and new labels are offered a special container.
The initiator behind the project Roger Wade commented, he wanted to offer an alternative for large shopping centres that the city already has. “We don’t focus on high street, but on smaller brands and local businesses.” What kind of brands is not known as yet.
