Outerwear brand Puffa, known for its padded jacket, is launching its first-ever spring collection, as
the label explores new categories such as sweaters, polos, gilets and vest tops.Launching for Spring/Summer 15, the nautical-inspired collection is embracing the brand’s sporting heritage, with a men’s tech windcheater in red and blue, as well as an ultra-lightweight women’s metallic bomber, inspired by F1 team jackets. Other highlights include versatile macs with removable sleeves, drawcords and ‘pac-a-mac’ features, as well as stylish sweaters and polos.
Puffa design and brand consultant Will Rigg, who was appointed to the role earlier this year, said the collection built on the brand’s sporting roots: “From supporting the first-ever transatlantic hot-air-balloon flight to sponsoring Formula 1 and the British Admiral’s Cup, Puffa has always been about speed, versatility and activity.
“The first-ever Puffa jacket was even designed on a ping-pong table. Flexibility and movement are also key fashion trends for spring 15 and the new nautical-inspired collection embraces this, whilst referencing the brand’s unique sporting heritage with its retro designs and shapes.”
The SS15 will also see Puffa branching beyond the UK after the brand appointed international distribution partners Deluxe and Interjeans to handle distribution for Germany and Italy respectively. The brand also confirmed that it has plans to distribution the brand in the US, Japan and Korea in the near future.
Ilya Morgan, director of Deluxe Distribution GmbH & Co added: “We are always seeking for heritage brands with a strong DNA and with our new brand Puffa we have a powerful partner, with a contemporary ‘Britishness’ that will appeal internationally.”
