The International Woolmark Prize has completed the line-up

for its 2013-14 edition of its annual competition, with Rahul Mishra announced as the winner of the India and Middle East regional final.

Announced in Delhi, Mishra was selected by an international panel of experts, which included designer Manish Arora, Business of Fashion’s Imran Amed, and Peter Ackroyd, President of the International Wool Textile Organisation.

Mishra was awarded the final spot in the grand final taking place in Milan next year after impressing the judges with his garments that displayed progressive graphic hand-embroidery with merino wool yarn on a merino wool jacket dress.

He joins the other four labels already selected – Sibling for Europe, Christopher Esber from Australia, Joseph Altuzarra for the United States, and Hong Kong-based Ffixxed representing Asia.

The final will showcase all five designer’s capsule collections made from merino wool competing for the international prize of 100,000 Australian dollars and the opportunity to be stocked in top retailers globally including Harvey Nichols, Saks Fifth Avenue, 10 Corso Como, Joyce and David Jones.
