The fashion season is here

once again and the international fashion weeks are now fast approaching. Which also applies to Copenhagen Fashion Week. The Danish capital will be all about fashion from 29th January to 1st February 2013 and it certainly promises to be an extraordinary edition. An impressive total of 47 fashion shows from 10 different countries can be admired, more than ever before. Visitors can also enjoy dozens of other events at the three integrated fashion exhibitions, all three of which will - incredibly - be completely running on wind energy and are all very easily accessible as a result of the clever logistics.

The bottom of the barrel
The CFW organisers are doing absolutely everything within their power to ensure the expected 50.000+ visitors will not be left disappointed ... Over 2400 brands will be exhibiting at the three collaborating exhibitions – Gallery, CIFF and Vision – which has turned Copenhagen into the second largest fashion town in the world where the number of brands on offer are concerned. Just one ticket grants access to all exhibitions, which are very simple to access with a free shuttle service. Plus everyone who registers via www.gallery.dk beforehand can make free use of Copenhagen’s metro, as well as the Göteborg, Karlskrona and Kalmar trains to Copenhagen/Helsingør. The metro travels direct from Gallery in Forum to the CIFF in Bella Center in just 14 minutes. The metro from the airport will take you to Forum station within 20 minutes. So there is literally nothing stopping you from getting the absolute maximum out of Copenhagen Fashion Week.

Energy provided by windmills
The CFW will be completely running on wind energy, which perfectly suits the current spirit of the age, whilst still being the only exhibition in the world to have done so. Gallery and Vision are paying for the energy and Bella Center (CIFF) even has its own windmill. A unique theme and hopefully a future trend.

Back to the future
And we have another snippet of news! The almost 40 year old Stock Exchange will represent the backdrop for 14 catwalk shows from 9 different countries this year. Well known names like Vivienne Westwood (UK), Henrik Vibskov (DK), Peter Jensen (UK) and Marlène Birger (DK) will be represented, but the stately premises will also become a stage for some very promising newcomers, including Bibi Chemnitz from Greenland, Places by Gideon from Hong Kong, 2of + ByYat from Finland and AYNI CPH from Peru/Denmark. Even the Netherlands is represented and by none other than the young and upcoming brand Ready to Fish.

In short: plenty of reasons for a trip to the Danish capital this year, which, incidentally, is certainly also worth a visit in its own right. After all, Scandinavian fashion continues to be incredibly popular and the internationalisation of all three exhibitions has definitely completed the fashion image.
