To celebrate Diesel’s 35th anniversary, founder Renzo Rosso

is donating 550,000 euros to the Only The Brave Foundation, the non-profit organisation of Diesel’s parent company OTB, which supports sustainable social projects around the world.

In an open letter on the brand’s social media pages, Rosso said: “Thirty-five years ago, the most incredible adventure of my life started: Diesel. Thirty-five years of creativity, courage, passion and fun.

“We changed the rules of the market, marketing, sales and design - we contributed to change the fashion industry.”

Rosso, goes on to add that Diesel as a company feels “responsible and committed to giving back to society" and that is the reason why the fashion brand has decided to “celebrate this important anniversary in a different way”.

The letter states that the donation will go towards sustainable projects, such as the restoration of Venice's Rialto Bridge, funding a microcredit project to help families and companies damaged by the earthquake that struck Italy last year, as well as supporting 'Made In Italy' suppliers.
