Celebrity stylist Mark Heyes and three first time retail runners from Matalan,

Moda Menswear and Bright House braved the 26.2 miles of the iconic Virgin London Marathon on Sunday. The runners helped raise more than £16,000 for Retail Trust, the only charity that looks after the needs of all three million people in retail.

Mark who finished the race in 3 hours 39 minutes said: “This was my first marathon and I really wanted to run for Retail Trust. The support the charity gives to retail staff is invaluable and I want everyone to know who Retail Trust are and what they’re about.”

Nigel J L Rothband, Retail Trust Chief Executive said, “We are so proud of all of our runners. Having run the London Marathon before I know just how much of a challenge it is, so to have completed it and raised £16,000 is a massive achievement. The funds raised will help change the lives of people in retail who need us the most. Thank you Mark, Heather, James and Sarah!”

Retail Trust provides free services for retail staff including counselling, hardship grants, legal advice, debt advice, course funding and more.
