talk today on the Spirit stage at Pure. For retailers looking to bring their websites up to date and beyond, the key is about “looking good on google,” according to Search Engine Optimization specialist, Bardsley.

With Google now commanding 90% of the search market, here are some key points for retailers to consider:

Keywords: these need to promote sales and be specific as Google searches are very focused.

Social marketing: A website should have content, blogs and social media. It’s key to creating brand loyalty and customer engagement – key for fashion companies.

Be massively active: Twitter, Google Plus, Facebook – these all drive business by feeding off customer loyalty.

Modernise your website: No more flash sites, bring in an ecommerce version. There is an ecommerce and SEO synergy, which increases the websites findability.

Online marketing plan: to get offline and online to support one another. For example, any in-store promotions must be recognised online, to reward the customer base.
